The Clarke Historical Library is named for Dr. Norman E. Clarke, Sr., whose collection of historical books, archival collections about the Old Northwest Territories and Michigan, and the children's literature collection of his wife, Mrs. Lucile Clarke, were donated to form the Library at his alma mater, Central Michigan University, in 1954.
