Land patent, 1809,1814.

Land patent to John Graham, Nathaniel Massie, and George Gordon, concerning land located between the little Miamai and Sciota rivers, northwest of the Ohio River in Ohio. The land was issued as a miltary bounty, for miltary services performed in the Revolutionary War by Lt. George Holland of Virginia, on Oct. 24, 1809 by Pres. James Madison and R.[Robert] Smith, Secretary of State. A note from the War Office, signed by W. Eustis, Secretary of War, on Oct. 24, 1809, notes that Holland sold the land to Graham, Massie, and Gordon. Edward Tiffin, Commissioner of the General Land Office, certified that the patent was copied from the records of Patents of Land Granted to the Virginia Line (troops) in V. 5, p.2331. Tiffin copied the information in April 1814.
