Horace Greeley (February 3, 1811 – November 29, 1872) was an American newspaper editor and publisher who was the founder and editor of the New-York Tribune, among the great newspapers of its time. Stebbins (b. 1812) operated a general store in Palmyra (Mich.), edited the "Michigan Expositor," and served as a postal official and deputy superintendent of public instruction in Adrian (Mich.). He was involved with the Shiawassee Sunday School Association. Stebbins was married and had two children.
