This collection contains a large amount of material dealing with all aspects of Litchfield's administration. The material dates from 1956 to 1965, his term in the office. It contains a number of different items, but primarily correspondence. Dr. David H. Kurtzman came to the University of Pittsburgh as its Vice Chancellor for Finance in July of 1965. He assumed his new duties at the height of a financial crisis at the University.
