The Newberry was founded on July 1, 1887 and opened for business on September 6 of that year. Connecticut Mohegan leader. In 1758 Johnson entered Eleazar Wheelock's school for Indians, then located in Lebanon, Conn., and in 1766 or 7 left to become a teacher among the Iroquois.
