The collection consists of records from both the administrative division and the science division. Administrative records originated in the Director's Office, the Chief of Staff's Office, the Library, Contracts Division, and Research Programs, with a small amount from the Office of Public Outreach. Science records include those from the Faint Object Spectrograph, Faint Object Camera, the Instrument Division, and the Space Telelscope Observatory Performance Assessment Team.
