Papers, 1692-1846, of Elizabeth Hawes Ryland (1879-1954) consisting of the wills of Christopher Robinson (1645-1692/3), of Middlesex County, Virginia and of Molly Tunstall (1785) of King and Queen County, Virginia; Hawes family letters, 1821-1844, mainly containing family and personal news; Hawes family business accounts and receipts, mainly tax receipts and accounts for Thomas M. Hawes, also includes a report card for Thomas H. Hawes; receipts, 1763-1803, for payments made by James Webb, executor; receipts and bonds, 1799-1809, of Thomas Martin, sheriff of King and Queen County; letter, 2 November 1825, from R. Ryland of Washington D.C. to Robert B. Semple of King and Queen County, concerning the medical department of Columbian College; deed, written 11 April 1709 and recorded 12 April 1709, for 200 acres in King and Queen County from William Baker to John Martin, both of King and Queen County, negative photostat; abstracts of King William County, Virginia, volumes 1-5, 1702-1821; "King William County, Virginia, in old newspapers;" and "Miscellaneous King William Notes."
