The General Files, which were received in 1976, 1978, and 1985, are alphabetically arranged and include the following: committee files (especially the Education Commission, 1970-72, and the Governance Commission, 1970-1973); budgetary and personnel records; files relating to external organizations, funds, and foundations; curriculum development; student life; and buildings and grounds. Also present are drafts of Fuller's talks and writings (ca. 1960-1980). The General Correspondence files, received in 1992, are alphabetically arranged. Present in the Fuller papers are materials from the preceding presidential administration of Robert Kenneth Carr (1960-1970) and the succeeding administrations of Ellsworth C. Carlson (1974-1975) and Emil Charles Danenberg (1975-1981).

Emil Danenberg was born in Hong Kong in 1917. After his family emigrated to Los Angeles in 1926, Danenberg continued his piano studies with Abby De Avirett and Edward Steuermann while also studying theory with Arnold Schoenberg. Danenberg received B.A. and A.M. degrees from UCLA and honorary degrees from Marietta College and Franklin College. Widely respected academician and ninth President of Oberlin College. Born in Cleveland (1908), Carr received his education at Dartmouth (A.B. 1929) and Harvard (A.M. 1930, Ph. D. 1935). Ellsworth C. Carlson was born May 27, 1917, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Carlson graduated from Oberlin College in 1939 with Phi Beta Kappa honors and an A.B. degree in History. Robert Works Fuller, tenth President of Oberlin College, was born in Summit, New Jersey in 1936.
