Saying he does not feel that an opera about "les Hussites," treating religious disputes, would have much chance, especially after Meyerbeer, asking her, if she has not yet done so, not to write to Meissner, saying that Max Ring, who wrote the libretto for his Ulrich, promised to look for another one, that his Paradis perdu has no chance of being performed in Berlin--the king has ordered Stern to prepare Reinthaler's oratorio--, saying he received a letter from Liszt the day before, that Joachim is in Berlin with the Arnims--Rubinstein does not think Joachim's marriage to Gisella is likely--, mentioning Lindpaintner's death, [Leopold] Damrosch, etc.
