Saying that his health prevented him from attending the rehearsals in London of [Wagner's] Meistersinger, which he translated into Italian for Covent Garden, describing the difficulty involved in the translation, especially since he "was bound not to change a single note in the whole score," adding that he has just heard that Bottesini is ill and sinking fast, thanking Bennett for printing his article "Music in Belgium" in the Lute, etc.
