This collection contains materials on soil conservation, water resources, and mining in the Western U.S. Project files include reports, correspondence, technical data, and reprints for several projects in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, and Arizona. This collection also includes United States Geological Survey (USGS) and Bureau of Reclamation reports, memos, charts, and news clippings pertaining to the Colorado River. Additionally, there are snow survey reports, conference papers by others, and reference files.

William E. Anderson (1909-1994) worked for the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service in Arizona in the 1940s.
