Hunter was part of the American Arts and Crafts Movement, and a member of Elbert Hubbard's Roycrofters in East Aurora, NY, in 1904. He devoted his life to research, collecting, writing, and publishing the history of hand papermaking and printing. He published books at his Mountain House Press and established Lime Rock Mill, a paper mill in Connecticut. Paul Bigelow Sears, educator and ecologist, was born on December 17, 1891 in Bucyrus, Ohio. He received his B.S. degree in 1913 from Ohio Wesleyan University. He earned a M.A. from the University of Nebraska in 1915 and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Chicago in 1922.
