According to Boyle these are "Papers relating to family of Leo XII," but they seem to be more appropriately characterized as related to the secretary of state. Germano Gualdo says that they came from the contessa Silvia Baroni, widow of Pasolini-Zanelli. She was a descendent of Tiberio Troni, a secretary of Cardinal Annibale Della Genga (later Leo XII) and an uditore di nunziatura. In 1920 the contessa donated the material of T. Troni, containing the spogli of Cardinal Della Genga to the ASV. The collection was acquired by ASV in 1920 (carte dell'eredita Troni e spoglia del card. Della Genga) and 1931.
