Drafts or copies of letters (many in Pownall's hand) dated 7 Aug. 1757 to 17 March 1760. The letters relate to military and naval events of the French and Indian War campaigns in New York, Louisbourg, and Canada, and the building and administration of Fort Penobscot. Addressees include generals James Abercromby, Lord Jeffery Amherst, Lord Loudoun, Sir William Pepperrell, Daniel Webb, and James Wolfe; admirals Edward Boscawen, Philip Durell, Francis Holburne, and Sir Charles Saunders; and governor James De Lancey of New York.
