Audella Beebe Hyatt was born in Kinderhook, N.Y., on Feb. 14, 1840. Little is known of her early life. Her father was a farmer. Harriet R. Hyatt Mayor was born in Salem, Mass. in 1868, the daughter of Audella Beebe Hyatt and Alpheus Hyatt II, the noted paleontologist.
