Macleod, born June 8, 1943, earned his B.A. at the University of Toronto in 1965 and both his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1967 and 1973, respectively. Since 1970, Professor Macleod has taught a variety of courses in CMU's Department of History, chaired the department in the fall of 1997 and 1985-1991, served as the Graduate Coordinator for the department, 1996-1997, and as Chair of CMU's Academic Senate, 1982-1983. Since 1998, Professor Macleod has edited the Michigan Historical Review. Professor His publications have included the topics of Boy Scouts, American children, YMCA, Carnegie libraries, and Michigan mapping. A number of his publications are separately cataloged in the Park and Clarke libraries at CMU. Professor Macleod is married to Beth Macleod, a CMU librarian emerita.
