Harriet Taylor Upton was an Ohio suffragist, one of seven women on, and vice chair of, the Republican Advisory Committee under President Warren G. Harding, 1922. She was auditor and treasurer of the National American Woman Suffrage Association. Daughter of Ezra B. Taylor and Harriet Frazer of Ravenna, Ohio, she married George Upton (d. 1923). She published the book, Our early presidents, their wives and children.

Harriet Taylor Upton (1853-1945) was born in Ravenna, Ohio. Upon her father's election to Congress in 1880, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she developed a close acquaintance with national Republican leaders and came in contact with leading suffragists. In 1890 Harriet Upton joined the National American Woman Suffrage Association, serving as treasurer from 1894-1910. In addition, she was president of the Ohio Woman Suffrage Association (1899-1908 and 1911-1920), and edited Progress, a monthly suffrage paper (1902-1910). After the passage of the 19th Amendment, Upton was a vice-chairman of the Republican National Committee for four years. She retired from public life in 1931. Suffragist and author Upton (1853-1945) lived in Ohio and Washington, D.C. She joined the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1890, and worked for suffrage by fundraising and by editing and writing for the suffrage journal, Progress.
