Missionary; born in 1900; graduated from Moody Bible Institute, 1926; married Loyal Bartel, 1926; worked in China with China Mennonite Mission Society, 1927-1947; interned with family during Sino-Japanese War; lived in Mountain Lake, Minnesota, and Wheaton, Illinois, 1948- ; husband interned in China until his death in 1971.
