Simpson, Lewis P.
Variant namesLewis Simpson (1916-2005) spent much of his career at Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, La.) as an English professor. In 1965, he became co-editor of the Southern Review, the literary journal founded by Cleanth Brooks and Robert Penn Warren. He served on advisory and editorial boards for journals and professional organizations, authored numerous books and articles, served on grant and award committees, presented papers at national conferences, and lectured at various universities around the country.
