Benjamin Reeve was a Quaker minister from southern New Jersey. He was born on the 2nd of the 7th month, 1737 (old style), the third child of Joseph and Eleanor Reeve. Reeve served as a minister in Greenwich and was also a well-known peacemaker. In 1761 he married Ruth Brick, and in 1764 the couple moved to Salem, New Jersey. Reeve died on the 24th of the 5th month, 1801, in his 64th year.
