Journalist and poet.

Conway was born of Irish parents in Rochester, New York. She was educated in Rochester and Buffalo. After working as an editor and journalist in New York State, she joined the staff of THE PILOT in Boston in 1883. In 1904 she became the paper's first female editor. In 1908 she became editor of THE REPUBLIC.
