Married Frances Campbell in 1939, served four years with U.S. Army during World War II. Received masters degree from Texas Technological College, 1937; PhD from University of Texas, 1952. Professor of history at Texas Technological College, and served as Head of History Department (1954-1960) and Academic Vice-President (1960-1968). Appointed President of Texas Wesleyan College in 1968. Author of "The Matador Land and Cattle Company."
