Iowa Beef Processors, Inc.
Variant namesIowa Beef Processors, Inc. (IBP) was founded in 1961 in Denison, Iowa. In 1967, they opened a boxed beef operation at the company's new Dakota City plant complex, one of the first large-scale beef-processing plants in the nation, and revolutionized meat processing. Because of IBP's movement into pork and other value-added areas, Iowa Beef Processors became IBP, Inc., in 1982. The company merged with Occidental in 1981.
