Biographical notes:

The Committee was formed following the end of World War II; A.J. Muste served as Chair. Its purpose was to arouse public support for amnesty for all war objectors, regardless of the basis of the objection. A. Philip Randolph and Emily Greene Balch were also involved with the Committee.
