Biographical notes:
David Roberts was a Quaker farmer associated with Chester Monthly Meeting, from Moorestown, Burlington County, New Jersey. He was born on the 14th of the 2nd month 1792 to Joseph and Susanna (Coles) Roberts. In 1815, he married Rachel Hunt, with whom he had nine children; the first five were named Esther, Elisha, Edwin, Joseph H., and Mary. From 1858-61, he served as Superintendent of Westtown School. David Roberts died on December 9th, 1880, in his 89th year.
