Arthur T. Connolly was born in Waltham, Massachusetts on December 2, 1853. His family stayed in this area, and he later went on to Boston College. He later transfered to St. Charles College in Baltimore with the goal to enter the ministry. He graduated in 1872, and entered the Grand Seminary in Montreal. He later graduated, and was ordained a priest on December 21, 1878. He went on to spend thirty-six years devoted to the parish, the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, in Boston. He was a noted book collector, and trustee of Boston Public Library who donated many volumes to the Catholic University of America library. He died in 1933.

Connolly grew up in Waltham, Mass. and attended Boston College. He studied for the priesthood in Baltimore and Montreal and was ordained in 1878. Connolly served in several parishes in and around Boston and also developed special art and book collections which were later donated to Catholic institutions of higher learning.
