Biographical notes:

Committee appointed by the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1970 to review Convention agency assignments made in the 1959 report of the Committee to Study the Total Southern Baptist Program. Fifteen member committee met 21 times between 1970 and 1973 and reported its findings to the 1974 Convention.

The Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention is the fiduciary, the fiscal, and the executive agency of the Convention in all its affairs not specifically committed to some other board or agency. The Convention created the Executive Committee in 1917 and expanded its role and membership in 1927. Headquarters for the Executive Committee are located in Nashville, Tennessee.
