Moore, Merrill Dennis, 1904-

Southern Baptist pastor, educator, and denominational leader. Served churches in Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Elected president of the Tennessee College for Women in 1940 and director of promotion and associate secretary of the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention in 1948. In 1961 he was named the executive director of the newly formed Stewardship Commission. He retired in 1971.
