Kenneth Owen White was president of the Southern Baptist Convention and General Baptist Convention of Texas, and held both posts simultaneously. While president, Dr. White served as pastor of First Baptist Church, Houston, Texas. He previously held pastorates in Kentucky, Georgia, Arkansas, California, and Washington, D. C. He received his Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. White was born in London, England in 1902 and died July 12, 1985 in Tucson, Arizona.
