Poet and novelist David Wagoner was educated at Penn State and Indiana, and has taught at Penn State and Washington. A gifted and entertaining poet, the eminent readibility of his work can cause the complexity of his verse to be underappreciated. His subject matter is often the American Northwest, and his themes are frequently the overarching themes of understanding and existence.
