Housman papers including three manuscripts, a parody by Arthur Christopher Benson, a dedication to Moses I. Jackson, and three letters: Grant Richards to Housman, Jackson to Richards, and Geoffrey Wethered to Laurence Housman. White's professional correspondence contains discussions with other scholars about Ernest Bramah, G. K. Chesterton, Emily Dickinson, John Donne, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Ernest Hemingway, A. E. Housman, D. H. Lawrence, Sir William Osler, W. D. Snodgrass, Henry D. Thoreau, and Nathanael West. There are also topical files on censorship, particularly of John O'Hara's "Ten North Frederick"; the "New Cambridge bibliography of English literature"; the International Imitation Hemingway Competition; employment at Oita College of Commerce, Oita, Japan; and evaluation of Ph D dissertations submitted to the University of Madras, Madras, India. The collection also contains research material including copies of correspondence and manuscripts, bibliographies, notes and printed items, and recordings of lectures and readings, for many of the above authors particularly Bramah, Hemingway, Housman, and Whitman. Anne Marx was a poet, lecturer and editor. She was vice-president of the Poetry Society of America in 1978 and regional president of the National League of American Pen Women in 1992. She died April 16, 2006. The collection contains correspondence with friends and organizations, Poetry Society of America records, material about lectures and workshops, drafts of her poems and material pertaining to the nine volumes of published poetry. Also included are audio tapes. Additions donated in 1994 contain material concerning her early years living in Germany, including correspondence, diaries, school material and poems. Also included are materials concerning her first years in the United States. Additions donated in 2006 following Marx's death provide further documentation of her activities as poet and lecturer and covers the years 1947 through 2004.

The papers consist of letters and postcards to Diane Di Prima. As joint editor, with Di Prima, of the poetry magazine "Floating Bear," Baraka suggests material for the magazine, forwards new subscriber information, and asks that certain new magazines be noted in "Floating Bear." Baraka mentions his own work, assesses some of his poems, and notes "Eyes in the back of our heads" by Denise Levertov, "Man condemned to death" by Jean Genet, and "Cain's Book" by Alex Trocchi. He writes of teaching at the New School for Social Research, contracting hepatitis from dirty needles, and being locked up at Bellevue. He mentions his parents, his family, Larry Wallrich, Alfred Leslie, Louis Ginsberg, Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and many of the "Floating Bear contributors."
