The Research Triangle Foundation (RTF) is the owner and developer of Research Triangle Park, N.C., a research park housing research institutes and other businesses in Piedmont North Carolina. Records of the Research Triangle Foundation include files of predecessor organizations and other organizations related to the planning and development of the Research Triangle Park, among them the Pinelands Company, Inc.; the Research Triangle Committee, Inc.; the Triangle Service Center; and the Research Triangle Regional Planning Commission. Also included are materials relating to the Research Triangle Institute and the Triangle Universities Center for Advanced Studies, Inc. Files contain correspondence, memoranda, agendas and minutes of meetings, financial records, legal documents, maps, plats, architectural drawings, speeches, promotional materials, newspaper clippings, publications of Research Triangle Park organizations, reference materials, photographs, slides, film, and audiocassettes and tapes. Title: Family papers, 1768-1925 (inclusive).

Papers of Wyndham Robertson and his family. Contains correspondence, receipts and accounts, land grants, deeds, a family register, legal documents, scrapbooks, and diaries. Pre-1815 material consists of the correspondence of Wyndham Robertson's grandfather, Archibald, and his father, William. Early material also includes a commonplace book and two travel diaries. Correspondence, 1856-1870, includes letters from Robert E. Lee, J.E.B. Stuart, Samuel Tilden, and others prominent in military and civilian life. Also includes correspondence that describes developments leading to the Civil War, the effects of the war and post-war activities on Robertson's family. Contains records of the Loyal Company. Papers from 1888 to 1925 relate to the Wyndham family's management of the Buena Vista Plaster Company. Also contains genealogical documentation on the history of the Bolling family and Pocahontas from whom Robertson was descended. Land grants, 1785-1834, signed by Virginia governors are also included.

Consists primarily of the correspondence of Wyndham Robertson. Letters written before the Civil War concern his experiences as a student at the College of William and Mary, family news, Southern ante-bellum society, his estate at Abingdon, Va., and land speculation in Arkansas. Wartime letters concern the election of 1860, the secession crisis, and the effect of the war on Robertson's family. Postwar letters discuss Robertson's business interest in the Buena Vista Plaster Company, Virginia history, and his book Descendants of Pocahontas (1858?). Also, contain papers of the Loyal Company of Virginia including land surveys, receipts, land grants, and account books for land purchased in Virginia (reels 6 and 7); Roster of Officers and Members of R.E. Lee Camp No. 1, 1913 (reel 5); letters, 1823-1872, of John Robertson concerning national politics and life in Washington, D.C. Title: Century Company records

The Century Company published the Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine, which was widely regarded as the best general periodical of its time, performing a role as cultural arbiter during the 1880s and 1890s. It was founded in New York City in 1881 and also published the children's magazine St. Nicholas, dictionaries, and books. The Century Company records date from 1870 to the 1930s and chiefly contain correspondence with contributors, readers, public figures, and literary agents. A number of manuscripts and proofs in the collection are extensively edited and taken with annotations on letters provide a detailed record of the outlook, standards, and functions of the company.
