The contents of the buste include a manuscript of a book, Memorie intorno alla vita del Cardinal Lorenzo Caleppi, written by Camillo Luigi de Rossi, who was Caleppi's secretary from 1795 until his death. This was published as a book in Rome in 1845 by the Propaganda Fide and is available at the Vatican Library. In addition to the Memorie the buste contain materials primarily relating to the nunciatures for Portugal. There are some small, surprising, groups of records, however, including "Eredita Garampi" and a "Memoire Justicative de la conduite tenue par l'abbe Zacchi pendant les sept ans qu'il a ete charge de l'education de S.A. le Prince Joseph Wenzel de Liechtenstein."in."

This is a collection of papers of Secretary of State Cardinal Ercole Consalvi, who was later (1824) prefect of the Congregation de Propaganda Fide. According to Kowalsky-Metzler, the collection includes documents concerning the Consalvi family history, the literary activity of the cardinal, and some of his activities in the Roman Curia. The curial records concern the Rota, the Concilio, the Tribunale della Segnatura di Giustizia, S. Offizio, Lauretana, and the Propaganda Fide. There is information about land holdings, income, and bequests, as well as information on music, poetry, agriculture, public administration, and legal proceedings (civil and criminal). The final busta, which is not listed in the index described below, contains printed materials. The books and pamphlets are largely eighteenth- and nineteenth-century religious devotional literature. The other part of the busta is comprised of secular newspapers, principally the Journal de l'empire, 1813-1814. The most interesting items in this busta, however, are at the end. These are two indexes to the library of Cardinal Consalvi entitled "Indice de Libri che compongono la Libreria dell. Eminenti e Rmo. Signor Cardinal Consalvi divisa nelle Seguenti Materie, cioe = Istorici Sacri, Profani ... Rettorici ... Poetici Italiani e Latini ... Teologi ... Filosofi, Fisici, e Mattematici ... Antiquari, Impressioni ed Ogetti di Belle Arti ... Miscellanea, o siano Opere Risguardanti diverse Materie ... Giureconsulti Canonici e Civili ... According to Boyle these are "Papers relating to family of Leo XII," but they seem to be more appropriately characterized as related to the secretary of state. Germano Gualdo says that they came from the contessa Silvia Baroni, widow of Pasolini-Zanelli. She was a descendent of Tiberio Troni, a secretary of Cardinal Annibale Della Genga (later Leo XII) and an uditore di nunziatura. In 1920 the contessa donated the material of T. Troni, containing the spogli of Cardinal Della Genga to the ASV. The collection was acquired by ASV in 1920 (carte dell'eredita Troni e spoglia del card. Della Genga) and 1931.
