Consists primarily of letters from Aurelia Schrober Plath, 1906-1994, to Mary Ann Montgomery. Interfiled among those letters are carbon copies of Dr. Montgomery's letters to Mrs. Plath. Other correspondents present in the collection are Bill and Hillary Clinton and other White House officials, and poet Robert Lax. A folder of miscellaneous letters includes one each from artist Norman Rockwell, poet Allen Ginsberg, and opera singer Beverly Sills. Also in this latter folder is an undated autograph note from Mlle. Marie d'Agoult, mistress to nineteenth-century composer Franz Liszt, to an unidentified "mademoiselle" inquiring about the health of Madame Coignet.

Michael Mott Collection, 1944-1989

Title: Michael Mott Collection 1944-1989

Michael Mott, novelist, biographer, editor, poet and essayist, was born and educated in England. He has received awards and critical acclaim for his poetry and novels. He was poetry editor for the from 1966-1970, twice a writer-in-residence at the College of William and Mary (1978 and 1985), and taught on the faculties of Emory University and Bowling Green State University. His biography of Thomas Merton was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and received a 1985 Christopher Award. The Michael Mott Collection includes drafts and notes for Mott’s published and unpublished works, both poetry and prose; journals, diaries and notebooks from 1944-1988; and correspondence with his publishers and with fellow writers from 1965-1989. A collection of science fiction film shooting scripts written by a number of different script writers including Peter Bryan, Michael Crichton, John C. Cooper, David Zelag Goodman, William Harrison, Roger O. Hiron, Rowland Leigh, Robert Lax, Robert Jaffee, Paul Jurist, Jack Pollack, Edmund Morris, and Philip Yordan. The scripts were produced by the following film companies: American International Pictures, Allied Artists International, Atlantic Productions, Inc., Compton Films, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Paramount Pictures Corporation, and United Artists Corporation. Most of the scripts are combined continuity and release dialogue scripts, providing complete dialogue as well as detailed camera angles.
