Anthropologist.

Field worked with the Field Museum of Natural History, 1926-1941; the Library of Congress, 1941-1945; Harvard University, 1950-1969; and the University of Miami, 1966-present. During 1944 and 1945 he was Director of "M Project," a government study on migration and settlement.
