A letter to the secretary of the Massachusetts Council listing amount s and type of shot wanted for the artillery at Castle William. At the foot of the letter is an order to provide the shot, signed by Speaker John Burrill for the House of Representatives and by Addington for the Council.

Ten companies comprised the 12th Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteer Militia: five from Boston, one from North Bridgewater, one from Abington, one from Weymouth, one from Stoughton, and one from Gloucester.
