Also included in the records are files pertaining to the club's publication and film programs. t Consists of the office files of David Ross Brower, the club's first Executive Director, 1952-1969. This series reflects the club's growth from a small club to a membership of over 70,000, and documents major environmental campaigns Brower led during his tenure, including the campaigns to block dams flooding Dinosaur National Monument and in the Grand Canyon. Brower was also a major force in the expansion of the Club's publications program; this expansion is well documented in production files containing correspondence with photographers, writers, and printers, with particular focus on the Sierra Club Exhibit Format Series. The files also document conflicts between the club's Board of Directors and Brower as he attempted to move the club toward a more international focus, took on larger conservation battles, and continually expanded the publications program. t Consists of the office files of Michael L. Fischer, Executive Director of the Sierra Club from 1987-1992. Contains correspondence, Jobs Completed files, speeches, notes, and other documents related to Sierra Club conservation and administrative matters.
