Painter and art patron; San Francisco, Calif. Born Irma Leisinger in Badenweiler, Germany, in 1910?. She was a student of Andre Lhote in Paris, and studied at the Academy of Arts in Berlin under Carl Hofer. Married Samuel Engel, professor of ophthamology at Stanford University, in 1932.
