La Jeunesse de Néron [dissertation], 1961 May 2.

The collection consists of Jean Chevrot's dissertation written under the direction of Professor (Marcel?) Durry and completed 1961 May 2. The subject is the youth of the Roman emperor Nero until the time of his ascendency. Chevrot analyzes Nero's upbringing in preparation for his role as emperor, and places it within the specific historical and political context of the first half of the first century A.D. He points out that what would have been considered exceptional honors in Republican Rome were more common for Imperial youths at this time.
