Seventy taped recordings of untranscribed interviews with artists, panel discussions, lectures, and conferences and 5 transcripts of lectures by artists; correspondence; photographs; typescripts; and printed material. Audio tapes include untranscribed interviews of Robert Motherwell, Nov. 10, 1964; Raymond Parker, John Opper and Tania, 1965; Stephen Greene, Robert Morris, and Jack Tworkov, Nov. 17, 1966; Marshall McLuhan and Jacob Blumner, Oct. 25, 1967; and Yayoi Kusama, Feb. 15, 1964; lectures delivered by Conant, Buckminster R. Fuller, Adolph Gottlieb, Frederick Kiesler, John Opper, James N. Wines and others; lectures and panel discussions of conferences of the Institute for the Study of Art in Education, Nov. 17, 1967 and Nov. 9, 1968; panel discussions sponsored by New York University, including "Synthesis in Modern Architecture, Painting and Sculpture," Oct. 22, 1965; and "The Art Student and the Future of the Avant-Garde, Nov. 29, 1966. Also included are recordings of lectures and panel discussions, mainly transcribed, and partial typescripts, notes and other material relating to NYU's "Contemporary Artists on Art Series," organized and moderated by Conant, Oct.-Dec. 1960. Particpants in the series included Ilya Bolotowsky, Lawrence Calcagno, Helen Frankenthaler, Balcomb Greene, Stephen Greene, Hilaire Hiler, John Humphrey, George J.
