Shuster was a prominent twentieth century artist in Santa Fe, New Mexico, who worked primarily as a painter and sculptor. He was a member of a Santa Fe artists group "Los Cinco Pintores." In 1926, Shuster created Zozobra (Old Man Gloom), the giant effigy that is burned at the annual Santa Fe Fiesta. From the description of Will Shuster papers, 1889-1971.
