Letters received by Monckton during the period in which he was Lieutenant Governor of Annapolis Royal and of Nova Scotia, in command of troops at Philadelphia (1760) and Governor of New York. The material (1754-1755 and 1760-1763) concerns the expulsion of the Acadians from Nova Scotia after the successful British expedition against the French forts at BeaseĢjour and Gaspereau, and military affairs in New York and Virginia.
