Harris W. Hollis collection, 1967-1978 (bulk 1968-1970).

The Harris W. Hollis collection contains official papers, photographs, and a photograph album regarding the 9th Infantry Division and the 25th Infantry Division during the periods they were commanded by Hollis and the Central Treaty Organization (CENTO). The official papers include memorandums, reports, lessons learned, correspondence, and charts regarding aircraft maintenance, 9th Infantry Division field standard operating procedures and tactical procedures, redeployment of the 9th Infantry Division, actions of the 9th and 25th Infantry Divisions, and the "Duffel Bag Sensor Employment Plan." They also include a set of memorandums written by Hollis. The photograph album shows equipment from the Battlefield Area Surveillance System (BASS). Preservation photocopies are included to record the original order of the photograph album.

Lieutenant General (LTG) Harris W. Hollis commanded the 9th Infantry Division from April to September 1969, and the 25th Infantry Division from 15 September 1969 to April 1970 as a major general. In the early 1970s he was promoted to lieutenant general and served as the United States representative to the Permanent Military Deputies Group, Central Treaty Organization (CENTO), in Ankara, Turkey.
