Manuscript letter from merchants Kenner and Henderson in New Orleans to Winthrop Sargent in Natchez discussing the sale of some cotton and the purchase of a fashionable hat for Sargent's wife. The letter also mentions the renewal of hostilities between England and France and the recent purchase of Louisiana by Mr. Monroe.

Kenner & Henderson were New Orleans merchants. Winthrop Sargent fought on the side of the colonists in the Revolutionary War, and was a politician and member of the Federalist party.
