Autograph letter signed : Paris, to Adriano Lualdi, undated.

This letter to the Italian composer and conductor Lualdi was written after Milhaud's trip to Venice (scheduled for 13 Sept. 1934); he explains that he regrets not having seen Lualdi before he left. Milhaud was charmed by the "flexible and so attentive orchestra" and also found Lualdi's administration charming and pleasant. As Milhaud's champion, Marguerite Long, wishes to play his piano concerto he urgently needs the parts. He asks Lualdi to send them direct to his editor Monsieur Deiss. He hopes that if Lualdi is in Paris he will have the use of a telephone and that he will visit Milhaud at home for lunch or dinner.
