Burroughs shares "some very distressing news" regarding the theft of a gold ring and coin from his fire safe. He suspects that the thief may have been a former landlord at the Stone House who "nurtures a psychotic hate for me," but who knows "nothing about my connection with IOT [Illuminates of Thanateros], certainly not from me." He also mentions sweat lodges and healing ceremonies at the Stone House.
