The Waterloo Counseling Center of Austin, Texas, was organized in 1983 primarily to rpovide counseling services to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered individuals, and their friends and families. After its inception, the non-profit corporation began serving persons with AIDS through a program known as the Austin AIDS Project, which subsequently became AIDS Services of Austin, a separate organization.
