William Williams Colbert (1807-1890) was born in Greene County, Ga., and married Mary Ann Elizabeth Goodson in 1831. They were the parents of Richard Colbert (b. 1835), William Bonaparte Colbert (1840-1890), and Georgia Alabama Colbert (b. 1843). The three children were born in Montgomery County, Ala., and the family settled in Bienville Parish, La., in 1849. Both sons served in the Ninth Louisiana Infantry Regiment during the Civil War.
