The Kolter Family collection contains papers and photographs of Lewis J. Kolter, Paul Kolter, and Richard D. Kolter, and is arranged in alphabetical order by name. Lewis J. Kolter's materials consist of a V-Mail dated 21 September 1943, a certificate of recognition from President William Clinton, and a photograph of Lewis from World War II (WWII). 1st Lieutenant (1LT) Richard D. Kolter enlisted in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was called to active duty on 20 September 1944. He was discharged from the Navy on 15 April 1946 and attended the University of Tennessee Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program.
