Representatives of the United States, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, and France organized the International Military Tribunal (IMT) in 1945 to try cases against twenty-four Nazi leaders. Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Lawrence D. Egbert joined the U.S. Naval Reserve in April 1918. He completed basic training, both on land and sea, commanded a company, and served as regimental signalman and an instructor in nautical astronomy.
